Astrology as a Tool for Understanding the Course of Life

Astrology examines the sky at the moment a person is born. By calculating the positions of the celestial bodies at that exact time and location, it reconstructs how the sky appeared and where the planets were positioned relative to the place of birth.

From this astronomical data, the so-called birth chart – also known as the natal chart or radix – is created. It shows the positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets in the zodiac as well as their angular relationships to one another.

In astrological interpretation, this constellation is understood as a structure that describes certain potentials, tensions, and possibilities for development. In a similar way to how natural cycles influence processes on Earth – such as the Sun affecting plant growth or the Moon influencing tides – planetary constellations are regarded as expressions of larger temporal rhythms.

A birth chart therefore does not provide fixed predictions. Rather, it describes fundamental themes and dynamics within a person’s life. Astrological analysis can help identify recurring patterns, understand periods of transition, and place important decisions within the context of one’s own potentials and circumstances.

Astrology does not replace personal decisions, but it can help clarify the broader structure of one’s life path.

Astrological Analysis with the Munich Rhythmic Theory

My work is based on the Munich Rhythmic Theory (MRL), an analytical school of modern astrology. Unlike many other approaches, it does not focus solely on the birth chart itself but also considers the unfolding of life over time.

The starting point of every analysis is the radix, the natal chart. It describes the fundamental planetary configuration at the moment of birth and thus the central potentials, tensions, and developmental possibilities of a life.

In addition, the Munich Rhythmic Theory examines where a person currently stands within their life cycle. To do this, the chart is interpreted within a seven-year rhythm that moves house by house through the horoscope, activating different thematic areas depending on age.

Similar to planetary aspects, this process creates angular relationships with the planets and configurations of the natal chart. Through this method, it becomes possible to identify which potentials and themes become particularly active during a given phase of life, and why certain questions or challenges come to the foreground at specific times.

Another central element of the Munich Rhythmic Theory is the concept of planetary rulership chains. These show how different areas of life are connected within the chart and how certain themes evolve or intertwine over time.

Astrological interpretation therefore does not arise spontaneously during the consultation. Instead, it is based on a carefully prepared analysis of the chart and its current activations.

About Me

My name is Hannes Stumpfl. I am a master craftsman in metal construction and hold a degree in engineering. Alongside my professional work, astrology has accompanied me for many years.

My interest in astrological correlations began early, and since 2013 I have studied astrological literature and various interpretative approaches in depth. Over time, this developed into a desire to understand astrology systematically rather than applying it only superficially.

In 2019 I began a multi-year training in the Munich Rhythmic Theory according to Wolfgang Döbereiner. Until 2025 I studied the foundations and methodology of this astrological school and gradually learned its interpretative principles.

Today I combine this astrological work with an analytical approach shaped by my technical background. I understand astrology as a structured model for interpreting life processes, developmental stages, and recurring themes in a person’s life.

Astrological Consultation

An astrological consultation begins with the creation of the birth chart. For this purpose, the date of birth, exact time of birth, and place of birth are required. From this information, the sky at the moment of birth can be calculated and represented as the natal chart. This chart forms the foundation for all further work.

Many people come to a consultation with a specific question. Others simply sense that certain themes are repeating in their lives or that they have entered a phase of transition. Regardless of the starting point, such experiences can be placed within the context of the horoscope, as it reflects the underlying structures of a person’s life.

Before each session, I prepare the astrological analysis in advance. The relevant factors of the chart are examined in relation to the current phase of life and the specific question being asked. This preparation forms the basis of the consultation.

During the session itself, the results are explained in detail. A dialogue develops in which there is space for questions, deeper exploration, and personal reflection. The aim is not only to understand individual constellations but to gain a clearer picture of one’s current situation and its possible developments.

Even a single session can reveal important connections. At the same time, experience shows that a birth chart unfolds its deeper meaning only through continued exploration. Depending on the situation, both a single analysis and a longer-term astrological accompaniment can be meaningful.

All consultations take place online via Zoom. After booking, the appointment is automatically confirmed and a link to the session is sent. Birth data or questions can still be added or corrected afterward, and further questions are always welcome before or after the session.

Consultation Options

Astrological work can take different forms. Some sessions focus on the initial exploration of the birth chart, while others deepen specific areas of life or examine current developments.

The starting point is the Life Compass. In this session, the Ascendant, the Sun, and the central rulership pathways according to the Munich Rhythmic Theory are analyzed. The goal is to gain a clear understanding of one’s fundamental structure, the current phase of life, and the recurring thematic lines within the chart. This session forms the foundation for further astrological work.

Another option is the Orientation Session, which is particularly helpful when a theme is noticeable but not yet clearly defined. Together we examine whether the question relates to a structural pattern, a temporal activation, or a specific thematic field within the horoscope.

Further sessions focus on the integration and follow-up of previously discussed topics. These conversations explore how the astrological patterns manifest in everyday life, what experiences have emerged from them, and which new questions may arise.

In addition, thematic deep-dives into specific areas of life are possible. These may include the interpretation of the personal yearly cycle, the analysis of current astrological activations, questions concerning career and professional development, relationship dynamics, and the emotional structure of the chart, which is particularly reflected in the Moon symbol.

All consultations share the same aim: to make astrological structures understandable in a way that allows them to be consciously recognized and integrated into one’s own life.

FAQ

  • A birth chart is a representation of the sky at the moment a person is born. The positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets are calculated for the exact date, time, and place of birth. This chart acts as a snapshot of the sky and serves in astrology as the basis for examining life structures, developmental potentials, and recurring themes.

  • Astrology understands the birth chart as a symbolic structure in which certain potentials, tensions, and developmental possibilities may become visible. It does not replace personal decisions and does not provide fixed predictions. Instead, it can help clarify patterns within one’s life and provide a broader perspective on current situations.

  • Every consultation is based on the birth chart. For this, the date of birth, exact time, and place of birth are required. Based on this information, an astrological analysis is prepared in advance, examining the central structures of the chart and the current phase of life. During the session, these relationships are explained and discussed together.

  • No. Many people approach astrology with skepticism at first. The consultation is not about belief but about examining the symbolic structures of the chart and relating them to one’s own life experience.

  • A birth chart reflects many areas of life. Common themes include personal development, relationship patterns, professional decisions, and current life phases. Astrological analysis helps place these themes within the broader context of a person’s life.

  • A birth chart represents a complex structure whose connections usually unfold over time. A single session can already provide valuable orientation. A deeper understanding often develops through several conversations.

  • All consultations take place online. After booking, the appointment is confirmed and a link to the session is sent, allowing participation from anywhere in the world.
